TOUCH OF HOLY SPIRIT 

The Night of the dreams

It was a dark autumn night. I woke up from a deep sleep trembling. I felt fear, but I didn't know what I was afraid of. That was a new feeling for me. Hearing wind blowing outside I turned my side and fell asleep again. However, something outside me woke me up again. Third time I woke up trembling strongly. I thought I had got a fever attack. For a while I sat beside my bed and decided then to take some medication. I stood up and there He was -the Holy Spirit of God! In a moment an unbelievable vision took me over: Heaven was wide open upon me. Wings shining with all brightness and in the middle of them a beautiful glory. Tremble and fear disappeared in that very moment.

I had been praying for years for the Holy Spirit and anointing into my life. There He was now in this kind of shape, coming upon me, slowly. I still remember it like it had happened yesterday. At last, face to face with the Holy Spirit, I had been waiting for this so long time. Soon the glory of God and presence of the Holy Spirit filled my room. I felt like in heaven. How wonderful it was to feel the touch of those wings on my shoulders when descendin upon me. Amazing peace and good feeling filled my heart. I felt deep thankfulness for God, as I had been praying for this for years, in fact since I was a child. It was the shortest night of my life - night of the dreams. I was speaking in tongues - certainly for hours - happier than ever. The first appointment with the Holy Spirit - and he took over my heart, my mind, everything on me! His presence felt so pure and holy. I forgot totally all my troubles and crises. His presence meant now everything for me. I wished it would never disappear.

God had called me to work as a full time preacher, and I had been praying so eagerly anointing to my ministry. Now I knew - He had anointed me. Now I could say as my master: "The Spirit of God is upon me because he has anointed me …!"
My first appointment with the Holy Spirit changed my whole life. Ever since my heart has been crying out - more your Spirit , o Lord, more your Spirit! Being in contact with the Holy Ghost can be very real. Now I think I understand , why David prayed: "Lord, don't take from me your Holy Spirit!"

After this experience it has been difficult for me, even impossible, to think about a life without contact with the Holy Ghost. I think the Holy Spirit wants to appear and make himself real to every disciple of Jesus.

Receive the Holy Spirit

"And when he so said, he breathed on them, and said to them:' Receive the Holy Spirit,' " (John 20:22). We know that the throne of Father, God is in heaven. We know also that after he had fulfilled his work on earth , Jesus was risen up to his Father and is now sitting on the right side of God on his throne. "So then when the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was received up into heaven, and sat down on the right hand of God." (Mark 16:19)

Many of us take it granted that Jesus is with us every day. However, it is nothing granted. Just take a look around, and you will notice, that Jesus is distant and strange for them, although He is their redeemer. If Jesus were with them every day, these words of his would be true in their lives: "I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly!" (John 10:10) . Notice that Jesus did not say: they will have, but they might have!

Contact with Jesus through the Holy Spirit

We should understand that only the Holy Spirit can glorify Jesus for us. The Holy Spirit will show us Jesus and make him real to us. Jesus himself said about the Spirit: "He shall glorify me," (John 16:14). You may know Jesus as your personal Savior, you may have a plenty of knowledge of Jesus, but do you really know him? How is He like? What does He want from you? What does He offer for you? What is His will, etc…? Jesus is much more than only your Savior! From the Bible we can see, who he is and what is he like. However, for many people all this has become only a theory. Only the Holy Spirit can make you to lo know Jesus personally. When Jesus was on earth in his flesh, it was a most natural thing for his disciples to have a contact with him. For us it should be as natural to have a contact with his Holy Spirit. Jesus has sent Him among us!

"When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness of me" (John 15:26). Many are those people to whom the Holy Spirit has beared witness of Jesus and glorified him standing himself silently beside and watching. I think I have learned something from this marvelous person. He will never force himself into your life. When you learn to know his voice, he will open marvelous views of Christ in front of your eyes.
